Birth... The Flow of Rhythm by Ligeia's Cadence

 

~ 'Ligeia'

 

~ A name that sticks in the mind. A name that is not easily forgotten. A name that means "clear-voiced, shrill, whistling". A perfect 'title' for her. But this is not her name. Her birth-name was given to her by her parents only one month ago. They have no idea that a massive tornado is about to devastate their home town.

~ The Story of Ligeia's Cadence:

 

~ Ligeia's Cadence is a conceptual art project. Producer/Musician/Engineer Scott Tipton created a fictional character named Ligeia. Her story is told through original music, photography and video. Each song is a short story and each album release is a chapter in series, containing 10 volumes.

~This is the story of Ligeia, a girl orphaned from her family after a terrible tornado kills her mother and father. From birth she searches for clues to her existence and experiences life though blood stained eyes.

~The first release 'Birth... The Flow of Rhythm' is set at a time of Ligeia's lowest point in life. With nothing and nobody, she decides to end her life, on her own terms. While falling to her death, after leaping from the top of the tallest building in the city, her last thoughts are blazing through her mind. These thoughts are the most important moments in her life.  These thoughts are the individual tracks you hear on the EP.

Biography

 

~ My love of music came at a very early age. I was drawn to the melodies, voices and beats from the 1970's era of music such as Elton John, Kiss, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Pink Floyd, Bad Company, Black Sabbath, Smokey Robinson, James Brown, The Beatles, on and on...At the age of 11 my older sister got a Harmony Guitar and a small Gorilla Amplifier (straight out of the Sears catalog!) After about two weeks I decided to pick it up and try it out. That same day I stumbled upon a 'power cord' and knowing that I had heard that 'sound' a zillion times before, I got chills. That led me on a never ending quest of researching and learning about guitars and why they sound the way they do and what the secret was to pulling emotions out of a person through sound. After a few dozen band situations (Sadistic, Fester, Grid-Lock, Nizzle, New Kent Killers, and a 4 year run with the band Divine Ratio) I came back to the Maryland/ DC area late 2006 to finish my Music Engineering/ Post Production Degrees I was lucky enough to team up with the Baltimore based band Telesma. Telesma became my 'final project' at Omega School of Applied Arts and Sciences in Rockville, MD which helped me immensely.

~ Today, after many years of building my personal project studio I have developed my most recent multi-media concept known as Ligeia's Cadence. A conceptual story told by original music, photography and video. Hints to her story can be found on links posted here on this site.
